The current timetable for the Project:

  • Outline Business Case Approval May 2013
  • Advertise for bidders in European Journal June 2013
  • Selection of 3 bidders – Sep 2013
  • Preferred Bidder -September 2014
  • Financial close January 2015
  • Anticipated construction start April 2015
  •  Construction commissioning and handover End of 2017
  • Construction complete Dec 2017 
  • Completion of service migration to new hospital Quarter 1 of 2018
  • Commissioning & staff inductions Spring 2018
  • First patients at new hospital Spring 2018

Communications Strategy

Background

The new site for the region’s main hospital is at the Garroch roundabout, off the Dumfries by-pass.

The project is progressing well and the Board expect to announce Preferred Bidder on 1st September 2014.
