Accessing the Addictions Service

If you require help with an alcohol and / or drug problem you should contact a service from the list below. They will be able to provide you with further information about the treatment and support options available to you. It may be that you just need someone to talk to, some help reducing your alcohol consumption or help with a drug issue. ADP services comprehensively assess your needs so that the treatment you receive is individually tailored  to suit you.
Well done for taking the first step.

ALCOHOL

The first thing to do if you or someone you care about has a drinking problem is to speak to your GP.
They will be able to check your health, calculate your consumption and refer you to the appropriate part of the local service. It may be that you just need some advice on how to reduce your drinking by yourself, or support with motivation to change. Your GP will be able to provide this information for you, along with referring you to other services, if required.

ALL GP surgeries in Dumfries & Galloway are signed up to the ADP alcohol contract, which means everyone registered with a GP should get help at this level.

If you don't wish to speak to your GP or you are not registered with a GP then you can contact the following services direct
