Neurology Service Group

What does the Neurological Services Group Do?

The Neurological Services Group is a group of the key doctors, nurses, therapists and other specialists who have developed a plan to make improvements to the service over the next few years. This plan is called the Neurological Services Plan and can be seen on this link

How you can help the Neurological Services Group:

The aim of the Neurological Services Group is that every person in the region with a suspected or confirmed neurological condition should experience an excellent standard of care. This means that the person should:

  • Be seen by the right doctor or nurse at the right time
  • Have the investigations, without waiting too long, that will result in their getting the right care and treatment for their condition
  • Have easy access to information, services and treatments that will best manage their condition
  • Be encouraged to discuss with the doctors and nurses their treatment and care and together make decisions on what to do

The group tries to ensure that a high standard of care is provided and are always looking for ways to improve. If you would like to make a suggestion, or think there may be a better way of providing your care or treatment, please pass on your ideas to the group. Please write to, speak or phone the neurology secretary, Ms E Bastow at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. (Telephone 01387 241087)

If you would like to participate in one of the sub groups of the Neurological Services Group please also contact Ms E Bastow
