NHS Dumfries and Galloway swept the board in the delivery of “outstanding” waiting time targets for patients with cancer.
Latest figures show that 100 per cent of patients were referred and treated for cancer within 62 days, against a target of 95 per cent.
Meanwhile, all cancer patients received medical help within 31 days.
NHS Board members yesterday officially acknowledged NHS Dumfries and Galloway staff for their impressive efforts.
Chief Operating Officer Julie White said: “We are exceeding and outperforming tough cancer waiting time targets.
"This is excellent news for our local patients and an outstanding effort by staff.
“Both clinical teams and managers have worked tirelessly to enable us to deliver. We have introduced significant redesign of our models and developed efficient processes which maintain personal support for understandably anxious patients.
"The key is now to maintain this excellent level of performance."
