Princess Alexandra officially opened the Macmillan Centre for cancer care in December 2003.
Built as an extension to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, Dumfries, the centre was made possible by the efforts of local fundraisers, Macmillan Cancer Relief and the New Opportunities Fund, as well as NHS Dumfries and Galloway itself.
The centre houses clinics and chemotherapy suite, the Alexandra Unit for specialist palliative care services, and the
Cancer Information and Support Centre. Please click on this link for more information about the Cancer Information and support centre.
