About Us

The Galloway Community Hospital opened to the public in September 2006, replacing the former Dalrymple Hospital and the Garrick Hospital.

The following services are provided in the Hospital:

  • Day Surgery is provided in a 12-trolley area.
  • Assessment and Rehabilitation is provided in Dalrymple Ward which has 24 beds.
  • Palliative care is provided in Dalrymple Ward, St Johns Unit in 2 bed.
  • Acute Medicine Services are provided in Garrick Ward, which has 20 beds.
  • Maternity services are provided from Clenoch Birthing Centre which 2 beds for low risk pregnancy.
  • Renal services are provided from a 4 station unit haemodialysis.
  • Investigations and Diagnostic services are provide by the Imaging and Laboratory depts.
  • Out-patient services are provided by a number of consultants and specialist nurses from Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
  • Dental Services.
  • Day Hospital.
  • Out of Hours.
