The Dumfries and Galloway Alcohol & Drugs Partnership (ADP) came into being in 2002 formally known as the Alcohol & Drugs Action Team (ADAT) and combined the Drug Action Team with the Alcohol Liaison Committee. The ADP draws its membership from a wide range of statutory and non-statutory organisations and groups, and works in partnership with a range of agencies. The work of the ADP is taken forward by its members who form sub groups focusing on the following themes:
In adopting this model, the ADP seeks to address a broad range of substance misuse issues. This work is facilitated by a small staff team who seek to maintain the core aims of the ADP.
Lead Officer - Jim ParkerManages the team and ensures partners work with transparency and accountability. Deals with the more strategic levels of alcohol and drug issues to be part of the wider public health agenda. Reports to the Health Board. Commissions services, allocates budgets and signs off the teams work in line with national and local policy context.

Administration Assistant – Margaret WoodwardProvides administration support for the whole team. Answers the telephone, disseminates minutes, creates conference packs and generally keeps the office running smoothly. Produces meeting papers and organises training placements. Also attends conferences organised by the team to support the day and look after visitors.

Research & Information Officer - Jackie DaviesManages drug and alcohol databases including Waiting Times, Needle Exchange. and Outcomes. Provides training to service staff on using national drug databases and spreadsheets . Lead contact for Drug Deaths and Non Fatal Overdoses. Provides support to local forums on undertaking local research/ surveys and developing questionnaires. Represents Dumfries and Galloway ADP on national groups.

Service Development Officer – Lorrain HylandPlans and implements Tier 1 and 2 Alcohol & Drug services across the region, working with key partners and agencies to ensure both national and local targets are met. Creating reports and monitoring progress to report to the main ADP and national government bodies. Takes part in community initiatives that address local substance misuse issues as well as highlighting national campaigns.

Stakeholder Engagement - Barbara ZamanCo-ordinating a range of initiatives with all stakeholders: professionals, partner agencies, support groups, communities and families. To raise awareness of alcohol and drug issues and develop cross cutting approaches that meet the needs of a wide range of stakeholders.
